when you leave

Topic: goodbyepoetry

every touch, every look, every feel u share gives me that will to fight,
to get through this pain day by day, night by night,
because when i see you leave, when i see you go,
my skin is shed and what i knew i now do not know.
i cannot make you stay, i cannot make you come back
but staying here without you is a skill i do indeed lack.
before my eyes i see red, the colour of bloody tears,
i see black the colour of emptiness that one does fear.
my heart wishes i could of had one more kiss before u did depart,
but u cant, you've left and dewy water falls from my heart.
i am not made of stone, nor ice, nor nothing real,
i am not made of nothing solid, or nothing one can feel.
i fall into a place where tears fall as rain,
where not even the ice can numb your pain.
i cannot feel you or touch you, i cannot use the wisdom of my sight,
but eyelids of imagination can help produce such sweet light.
i am in the deepness of sadness and do weep,
the climb out of this depth seems so steep.
the walls of woe draw in, collapsing upon me,
paralysing the movements of which would set me free.
but i fight on because the love you give me is so strong
that not acid or anguish will not stop me from being where i belong.
i will wait here for you to return, for u to bring me back to existence,
i will wait knowing love has no boundaries, knowing it can fly our distance,
and knowing i may hold you again one day soon,
makes the flower that is dead start to bloom.
i may not be made of stone, nor ice, nor nothing real,
i may not be made of nothing solid, or nothing one can feel,
but what exists in me exists because of what you did seal.

A powerful and gorgeous write! I think we all go through this exact same inner turmoil at points in our lives.
