Drifting beyond safe boundaries
Where everyday is the same
Until love appears and changes things
Rearranges every hour
Minutes race ahead
To get to you at the end of the day
Sun slips down between cool sheets
Where heat lingers on our limbs
Gentled by age we savor warmth
Lying in each other’s arms
Exchanging tender kisses
Kindred spirits joyful hearts leap
Celebrate cosmic force divine
For throwing us together so haphazardly
We can laugh with rain upon our lips
Pink cheeks and steamy breath
That Ireland has called us home at last

How vivid and wonderful - you portray this moment so well.

Here's hoping both sides can now swallow their pride and end the division forever.

Nice poem.

Damn, makes me wish I was Irish! You MUST have heard McKennitt's music - if not, I command you to download "The Old Ways" if you can find it. You have a beautiful poetic soul, merry :)
