He spoke and I never forget
his candy breath would choke out the words
until we would kiss;
drowned out the nouns & the verbs
and the sounds that we heard
were just each other.

It was never quite as nice
when I would speak up.
When I was brave enough
to talk about love,
I would mess everything up.
I couldn't shut up.
I couldn't enjoy
the essence of us.
And now I can.

I revel in every space he'll allow.
I weigh not the future,
only the here & the now.
I shine at the appropriate times.
I close my eyes and everything's fine.
No plans, no mess.
Spontaneous mixture and I never forget.
That's where my place is.

It isn't glamorous but it keeps me alive.
I close my eyes and everything's fine.
When he arrives
we'll drowned out the sounds
and it will just be us
not speaking up.

You have captured one of the nuances of the relationship with finesse.
BRAVO!
Stitch
