for me to feel too deeply,
mulling over things I’ve felt for too long,
things that would eat into me and forsake me,
I’d just sit down and close my eyes,
But nothing would happen
No miracle do I witness…
Yet, I’d see the Holy Bible,
with the corner of my eye,
as it lay all dusty on my table
Forgotten but revered...
When I reach out to It,
It will indeed help me,
-such a sinner at heart-
Yet, all these years I’ve abstained from doing so
Just a flip through Its pages,
is all that I could ever muster
Just a flip, be it any page,
Any at all…

Isn't it funny how believers forget God in the good times but in the hard times they go running to Him for cover? This poem is a good illustration of the help the Holy Scriptures can be in our time of need, and the comfort it brings-- we just need to be in it daily, not just when we are afraid.

Well when I read the title I thought of having the faith of a mustard seed in regards to moving mountains. I really liked your poem, what it had to say and the honesty of the way you flip thru pages.

Although I do understand---I also find the Bible to be fascinating and I read it like a research, resource manual. There is always something new to find.

Just rambling and yes a very good poem.

yes - regret - and perhaps it is fear of forgiveness that keeps one from faith - I don't know - you capture it well here, knowing salvation, yet not stepping toward it.

nice job.

The bible without tradition is only half a truth.
Some will cry-saved saved saved,
but will be cast aside.
Understanding the bible is understanding history "HIS" "STORY"
It is a good poem showing our humaness and lack of faith.
