All i want is to be happy oh how i try.
All this repressed anger from my past
To much has happened to sudden and fast

I cry myself to sleep at night
Then wake up to the eternal fight
I'll make it through another day
Only trying to find a better way

I will eventually find a place in life
Because i refuse to pick up that knife
I may fall but i will keep going
Living day by day, I'll still be hoping

To find joy in my heart
where all this anger got it's start
I know I can make it though the test

Survivor instinct. I recognize it, you have to fight all the way and everything seems to come a price. But you know that you can never give up the fight!! as you would have given up to easily. Good expressions of feelings.

Good writing, Creatorof Chaos! If you are actually feeling alot of anger and resentment of past events, try writing your thoughts and feelings about each hurtful event, as if you were writing a letter to the person involved or to yourself, if there are things you wish you'd done differently. No need to mail them, but you may find you are able to rid yourself of the negative feelings. This helped me in such matters. God bless you, SusieQ

    Hmmm....

I don't know what's more pathetic. This poem or the fact that so many people seemed to like it. What the heck is wrong with you people?? Can't you tell that this poem sucks????

In reply to the last senseless comment. I must say you have to be blind to not enjoy this write. It was so honest. The line 'because I refuse to pick up that knife' I just love it shows the strength you have. A beautiful honest poem. Thnx for sharing life up your head. The lamest thing is ppl's cowardice when they slam other ppl's poems.

It really does annoy me that people are so cowardly as to slam other ppls poems, and not even admit up to who they are! It's just pathetic. Anyway creatorofchaos I know I have already commented lol but I just read it thru again and fell in love with it all over again. I can see why it is the most read poem, and now I can relate to it so much more than when I last commented ^_^
    luv stacey

Eventhough I often write about giving in... I know in my heart I'll never do it because of the same things you talk about here. You were creative in the way you wrote this... "then wake up to the eternal fight" that is creative... don't mind jealous poeple who are too much a coward to even become a member before slamming peoples work. The statement Guest made showed severe lack of creativity.

the fumb nuck that left the message with their iq tatooed all over well I want give them anymore attention.
This is very good writiing here as most of us can relate.
It takes courage to admit to the planet our innermost thoughts.
I know about anger in it's rarest forms as I had a medical condition that has been fixed by surjury and I take meds.
I do know how hard it is when someone pushes one 2 the max when all u've ever done 2 them is good. That's anger of the worst kind. Yo've got a great thing going for yourself as u r dealling with it and sharing!
    God bless u,
    emy
To me this poem is amongst our masterpeices, as it's deeper than most idiots can ever relate to. Let me make it clear that the idiot I'm referring to has no cooth.
Ya know when u've touched on nerves that are raw ''''''cause evil always sticks his head out-n-hollers first!
Very good, strong, emotional, reality writing.
    LUV 2 ALL,

I can strongly relate to this poem. I know how it feels to have ocean's full of anger and rage. In the long run it drains you. Anyway I really loved this poem. It feels good to know that I'm not the only one in this world who feels the same way. Sometimes I feel like my best isn't good enough. But it's a constant battle I go through. Thanx for sharing this lovely emotional and inspirational poem. Hope everything works out for ya.
    Have a nice day :)

I'm more in awe that this poem is the most-read poem from emotional poetry than anything else. I should think, by now, even the poet himself has another poem he thinks might be better than this ancient--albeit masterful--poem.

A nice way of saying it is this peom well-embodies the entirety of emotional poetry, making a dip in every aspect that matters. The other way of putting it is, save that tantalizingly good line "I refuse to pick up that knife," is that it's lacking in depth, and almost generic. This approach does allow almost anyone to connect (as I'm sure even the foolish coward did), but overuse borders boredom and redundancy; doesn't a poem sometime almost sound like 10 other poems? Distressingly so.

We seriously need to get another poem to replace this one--a lot of poets out there should find something new to appreciate.

I still like the line about the knife, though.
    *grins*

There. This poem is forever stained by my irreperable commentary. It's so good I had to leave my stamp of greatness on it, and give it a commentary. Well, anyway...

*goes off to see of the author wrote anything more recent*

"Arrogance serves as a cowards cologne; It works to give substance to a man undergrown."
    ~The Palatine Poet

Therapy is in expressing what one feels in written words. Not everyone can do that... and when one does, some do not understand the need. I've read where someone had the gall to say this is a terrible poem..... hopefully this individual has led and will continue to have a life with out ever experiencing anger. The positive ending shows some of the anger has left and yes.....anger destroys our heart and soul, as well as relationships with others. Do I enjoy this type of writing? Of course not, but I truly understand the need and truly hope life gets better for you. June
