Array ( [sid] => 74822 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The pain is contained within this fragile frame [time] => 2004-12-07 20:19:32 [hometext] => *This poem is based on my father, whom I love very much... he just lets anger get the best of him* [bodytext] => sitting on my bed,
minding my own buisness,
I hear you curse.

You curse and you scream,
yelling my name.
"What did you think you were doing?!"
I look blankly towards your glare,
wondering what I had done.
"This costed me ____ dollars!"
"But..." I try to speak
"**** ****s!!"
you scream as you leave my room,
"**** bastards!"

I lay on the bed,
motionless I stay,
as a tear begins to run down my cheek.
In through my door comes my mother,
attempting to tell me that it's just because he's mad,
but anger isn't a good enough reason for me.

Daily I mind my own buisness,
daily I get yelled at for things I didn't do,
for something as small as eating.
"You're such a pig! You're just like your cousins!"
"Nothing's ever good enough for you now is it!?"
I run to my room,
my only security.
I turn my music up as loud as I can,
trying to block out the voices.

I don't want to be like I was last year,
I want to be happy,
I want to laugh,
that's all...
is that too much to ask for?
I'll never be perfect, but then again who is?
No matter what you do,
no matter what your reasons are,
I'll always love you.

Love your daughter,

he should be a better father and not let his anger get the best of him. anger has ruined a lot of peoples lives, he doesnt need to ruin the lives of the ones he cares about.

In my opinion failure to control your anger
isn't reason enough to swear at someone
especially your own child. I did like this poem
though and I am glad you still love him many
other people in your position would only
harbour anger themselves.

So much sadness within may be you should show him this poem. Nicely written.
