Hope embraces me,
And Happiness visits for more than a day…
Recollections of the past are left in the past,
Concepts of Death inhabit a mind other than my own…
The period of Darkness has ended,
The blade cries tears of dry blood…
My tool of "release" is left hidden and alone…
After so many sleepless nights,
So many tears shed for the undeserving,
Left to stain my soaked pillow,
I close my weary eyes in blissful slumber…
Dreams of crimson flowers and love,
Obscure hunters and grinning moons…
I awake,
To the lovely hymns of the precious Melodie,
To the fragrances of blooming roses,
Knowing that today would be a good day…
The Monster is left locked away in the closet of my memory,
Forgotten, even if for only a fleeting moment…
My healing wings spread wide,
I'm ready to take flight…
The radiant Sun welcomes me with open arms,
Her enchanting cerulean sky waiting to be occupied…
And without hesitation,
I sacrifice myself to the Heavens above…
Soaring high, my heart following,
Relishing the Suns warm smile upon my face…
I return the gesture,
At first not remembering how…
The corners of my mouth twisted and cracked,
Revealing the happiness I have been deprived of for so long…
My soul finally restored,
Mind clear,
And heart open for love to come in…
Words escape my lips,
Expressions of the feelings inside me…
At long last,

"I am free…"

I felt like this poem told the story of someone (yourself) who is experiencing a lot of pain, but is trying to see the beauty in life. I loved it. It's hard to do that, to see beauty, inspite of any unwelcomed feelings that constantly haunt us.

Hope embraces me,
And Happiness visits for more than a day…
Recollections of the past are left in the past,
Concepts of Death inhabit a mind other than my own…
The period of Darkness has ended,
The blade cries tears of dry blood…

I think that this expresses what I am talking about. I love the way you use your words, and the images you describe. (Sorry if I repeat myself in every comment I post) The blade cries tears of dry blood. Powerful.

Knowing that today would be a good day…
The Monster is left locked away in the closet of my memory,
Forgotten, even if for only a fleeting moment…

Again, that expresses what I am talking about. It takes a lot of courage to face every day with openess. And we must, or we will die unloved. Because the only way to see love, is to face life openly, inspite of our fears, and despair. Life is one lesson, teaching us to remain open, and accepting.

At first not remembering how…
The corners of my mouth twisted and cracked,
Revealing the happiness I have been deprived of for so long…

I loved this image. It perfectly expresses how you've been caught in your despair, and you've forgotten what it feels like to be happy. The corners of my mouth twisted and cracked. You have not smiled for so long, I am glad that you are able to now.

Remember this poem. Let it remind you that you can be happy, inspite of your pain. This is necessary because your pain will arise again and again, and you will feel hopeless. It's a cycle that I often experience. But you can be happy. You can still smile. Try to be positive. Negativity can only spiral us furthur downwards. Whenever you feel down, remember this poem.

Be True and stay strong,
zenmind

I smile with you a smile that radiates from my heart. You have experienced so much in the past. Slowly you are begining to heal may you continue on this journey of healing and freedom.
FleurdeSang you can heal your life.
Sleep like an angel may only positive thoughts be with you
Excellent as always you write with such talent

I can't help but think a part of you ... how ever small, always has been free. That tiny part writes ... it guides the way, shines the beacon of light through your darkness and pulls you into those places where you have been free to dream, to express, to feel ... anything. And the more that part of you creates with each and every word ... the larger it becomes ... the more you feel it, the stronger you become, and the more freedom you will find.
