Array ( [sid] => 7445 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => °°°My Gramparents°°° [time] => 2002-11-25 10:00:00 [hometext] => This is a re-post from another name i had here......This is my tribute to my wonderful Gramparents, they taught me alot about True Love, Life, Happiness, and Pain.... [bodytext] => I was a little baby with blonde hair, blue eyes
My grandpa was beautiful, he never told lies
I sat on his tummy, and pinched his cheeks
I brought him his slippers each morning for his feet

I leaned down to kiss him, but there was no sound
That morning in that house, he was Heaven bound..
My grandpa had passed, and i looked up to the sky
I didnt understand, but i was looking for the Angel's to fly

My grandma she fell to the floor, on her knees she did weep
Twas his love she made a vow, she'd eternally keep
Shaking and trembling, not knowing what to do
I looked up at my grandma and said, I Love You

It all went so fast, there were no angels in sight
I was only 3 years old in that big house that night
I knew my grandma would never in her life be the same
Twas the love of her soul mate, she kept saying his name

Years went by, other family member's souls flew
But his love stayed in her heart, for she always knew
His name on her breath she spoke the next 26 years
Still with much pain, and so very many tears

By lantern at the table my grandma always wept
Singing my grandpa's favorite song, "Rosewood Casket"
Every member of the family would gather around
We were all so quiet, not one of us made a sound

I'm that little baby, all grown up now
And to my grandma i made a vow
This vow i made to her in sacred privacy
My grandma was the only one who understood me

I was sitting by the lantern one night
I whispered softly to her, your love i'll keep tight
Songs i will sing i promise for the both of you
I will keep your love alive, to you i will stay true

Grandma kept him alive till time for her death
She even whispered his name, in her final breath
On the day of the funeral i swore to them both
That i wouldn't hover over that ground, I'd leave, I'd go

Buried next to him she lays, and now they are together
I have the both of them deep in my heart forever
That's why i sing, i told my grandma this
To keep their love alive, her love and his

Singing i learned from my Grandma way back
Keeps your heart from dying inside, from turning black
Their grave i can never return no more
I'd break my vow, then i'd forever be torn

A beautiful tribute to your grandparents, OreO. I wish I'd had sense and maturity enough to let them know how I felt and to thank them. You are a gentle and beautiful soul, OreO.
