Array ( [sid] => 74314 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Goodbye [time] => 2004-12-03 19:23:58 [hometext] => i dont think its as corny as its title....(well its my first love poem...dont think im very good about writing of love..so i`d appreciate the feedback!) [bodytext] => The first guy I held hands with
Who whispered softly in my ear
The first guy who I fell hard for
And it ended up in tears.
The first one to ask if he could kiss me,
The first to tell me that I’m cute,
The first guy to make me feel special
The first to leave me flushed and mute.
The firs guy to be so gentle
To treat me as if I’d break,
The first guy that left me,
In just one lousy day.
The first guy I couldn’t get my mind off,
The one who gave me butterflies,
The first guy to hold me
So that it left me warm inside.
The first guy I fell hard for,
Was the one who broke my heart,
It didn’t hurt that bad,
We barely got to start.
And one day, just like that all the feelings left,
It seems as if they died,
For the first guy to break my heart,
The first guy to whom I say goodbye…

I experienced a similar feeling to my first girlfriend. She broke my heart, but like you said, one day the feelings left, and I had no trouble in saying goodbye because I knew that I would just get hurt again. This reminds me of some song lyrics. I don't know if you've heard of the band "Death Cab for Cutie" (I know it's a strange name) They're indie rock and are one of my favorite bands.

"And there's no shame
that our love did slowly fade,
and now that it's gone,
it's like it wasn't there at all,
and here I rest,
while disappointment and regret,
collide,
lying awake at night"

It's a great breakup song.

Be True,
zenmind
