Up on stage,
In jail,
What a sad place.

The story begins
by a nativity scene,
Everyone yelling and doing there thing.
But I see you,
Sitting there,
nothing to do but feeling blue,

Jesus the babe layed in the manger,
while others are shouting
wondering what is the matter.

Now I hear you,
Now I see,
Your in jail
And want to be free.

A cop came up to the nativity scene,
Said where is your permit
Please show it to me,

No animals inside the city limit,
The pastor said hey wait a minute,
Ok the cop said the ticket being torn up
Your now going to jail or fifty dollars.

The cast of the nativity
got put in jail to,
They didnt want to pay the fine
now they are beside you.

They are not being who they should be
they all should be acting differently
Christmas spirit where is it at
did everyone forget about that.

Then all of a sudden
not like before
I heard what you said
I didn't know before.

What christmas is all about,
Not taking money in and lying about
oh santa you robber you stole from them
my eyes with tears are now dim

You stole to buy your kid a toy
your job laid off, you just wanted to buy some christmas joy
the nativity why are they in there
did they not care
all of a sudden they all got quiet
when santa told them all about it

Santa said that christmas is to bring peace to man
From the babe jesus cause he is the saviour to him
The nativity said they will pay to get out of jail,
pay santa's way out as well

The sheriffe said no more animals
he better not see
but then he said ok
only in your christmas scene.

Santa came up to the natitivty
He introduced his son and wife.
thanked the people for bailing him out.
then he went on bended knee,
before the babe and prayed,
Lord, forgive us
and thank you
for being born today. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 531 [topic] => 18 [informant] => sandy_poetrygodslove [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Holiday Poetry )

What an interesting and different story to tell, it mostly flowed well, a bit rough in a few places, and some of the spelling was wrong.
I liked the way the poem started off in the first verse...caught the readers eye right away.

layed (try lay) laid
Punctuation to differentiate words in the sentence - The pastor said hey wait a minute,
Ok the cop said the ticket being torn up
Your now going to jail or fifty dollars.'

sheriffe (sheriff)

From the babe jesus cause he is the saviour to him
Jesus

A true story? I can see God bringing people together in that way. Every knee shall bow sooner or later. I choose sooner.
