On a small girls cheek so filled with fear
Or did you just smile and walk on by
To busy to notice her, in your busy life

Did you see a young boy starving today
The way he trembled or how he shakes
Did you offer him food and yourself go without
Or did you fill your tummy, then walk in the crowd

Have you seen a small child that you recognized
But weren't quite sure where you'd seen them eyes
Did it make you wonder enough to check out
Just where you'd seen that child running about

Did you see that red headed one year old child
That was acting funny, not loud or wild
Did he walk right on passed you not making a sound
With his head buried under his chin so round

Are you so busy that you don't ever see
A Kidnapped child that's in desperate need
It's not nice to pry and it's not nice to stare
But watch out for those kidnapper's they're everywhere

So tonight on this star i will say one small prayer
To each child that's missing, and scared out there
I love you where ever your little heart lives
I hope you can escape child, you don't deserve this

So now i lay me down to sleep
i pray to the lord that your soul he'll keep
If you should die before morning light
Let god know what the kidnapper done my child

But if you live for another days pain
I'll pray that the kidnapper lives in shame
I hope someone sees you and follows you home
And reports that kidnapper to get you back home [comments] => 7 [counter] => 330 [topic] => 32 [informant] => OreO [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

Oh sandwich cookie, this is tenderly touching. You have a burden on your heart for children. Thank you for reminding us to pray for these precious little ones. (tears) Bless you, Dot

I think with all the people readng this poem there will actually be a change in how people recognize certain children instead of just noticing them. It makes a difference and everyone should know...that if you're worried about an innocent one and that is your first reaction when you see them then it's usually the reaction you should stay with and help. Thanks for opening up some eyes OreO.
