I'm living with it too but
it can go both ways,
How do you tell a friend?
Oh yeah by the way!!

I want them to like me
not have pity on me.
The one's I do tell it's
really not important to
them.
The one's that don't know
well they're going to know
now.
But I'm cool with that,
It's a part of life at least
nowadays it is.

It's just hard to tell a
friend sometimes,
Especially when you're
online,
They only know you from
the words you write,
You could be a liar
a cheat, a thief, a child
molester,
Shoot the F.B.I
could be talking to you.

But I know who I am,
And feel what others
are about.

There's some I like the
others it's not necessity
hate it's grow up kids.

But I'm not one to judge
and their life will get better
someday.

It's hard to tell a friend
you have AIDS.
Everybody dies someday,
It's a part of life today.

As long as I'm myself I feel
others will be the same.

It's hard to tell someone you
care about,
You're dying from AIDS.

I'm living with it too but

How do you tell a friend?

it must be so hard I cant begin to imagine, and then when you do tell people they shy away from you sometimes andf can be quite ignorant to the ilness and I think that is very rude and very wrong, heart wrenching poem Dennis,

I think that it is great you don't want pity because pity can slow you down. It must be hard though telling friends who don't get the concept of AIDS and they just begin to act like they don't know you and don't want to hang around. Through your poetry I can see that you are a strong person and you won't let AIDS bother you while you still have life left to live. Very heart felt poem and emotions were great..
