As I feel the last of my sanity creeping slowly
Away from the coldest parts of my sodden mind,
Leaving me alone in the mid winter morning
To scavenge the scattered corpses of my
Fleeting fancies.

I allow myself one glimmer of fading light
To guide my visionless spirit to the tenuous
Rays of the impoverished sun.

I see it in the turbid twilight,a faint spark
In the lightless sea of my ambiguity
Clinging unwaveringly to the erratic darkness
In my failing heart, like an ancient champion
Battling an impregnable dragon.

I crawl to the staunch warmth of the spark,
Placing it into my frigid mouth
Feeling the spark inside of me ignite into an inferno of blissful
Emancipation from the bleak shores of despondency.

Your love is the spark in my soul that devoures
The insurmountable tragedies that mark my being
And brings the ceaseless fire that conquers
My insatiable morosity.

Thank God for love.
Thank God for you.

This is a really good poem.

*kills all those who ignored it and didn't comment*

This is lovely. Sweet, though sort of dark at the same time.

Great write,
*hugs* Phil xxx
