Voices from the past haunt me,
Spiting insults in my face…
Their words, like daggers,
Penetrating my heart,
Ripping my soul…
Ah, such morbid words I speak,
But that is all I know…
Anguish, pain…
Obscure flower of suffering,
Little star that is lost,
That is I…
HE, the perilous father,
Clips my wings once more…
A night of sinful fun,
Just another one of HIS puppets,
A wretched whore…
Look at what I have become…
Worthless, disgrace, fool…
Happiness visits,
Then, without a goodbye,
She flees…
Back to the bleak, dark realm that I call life…
A dire need to rid of these thoughts, these emotions,
I turn to my precious piano,
My brush and radiant paints,
My hands, such talented poets…
Anything to be released from this torture,
Except the one thing I promised myself not to do…
Craving for that one moment of pain, subsequently followed by pleasure…
The reassuring drip drip of my beautiful crimson essence,
Trailing along the length of my arm…
Ah, the great Temptress,
The seductive Suicide…
Whispering to me that there is nothing here,
Nothing that loves me, nothing that wants me…
She entices me with expressions of liberty…
My dearest companion, Death,
Who is always there for me,
When I have nothing left to keep me on this horrid world…
I think of them daily,
Yearning for an end, for the long-awaited freedom I never had…
However, I know that there is another way,
Another way to break the chains and fly…
My symphony, unfinished,
Waits for the grand finale to, at long last, be completed…
Hope by my side, and Love beckoning,
I walk the path that I was chosen to have,
Head held high,
Thoughts clear,
Heart open for that special someone to claim it…
The voices are silent,
Suicide finishes her seductive dance,
And Death hunts for a new life to obtain…

I am boundless,
I am that bird in the sky…

You truly are boundless. Death definately loses this round. Pleasure flows from distant shores that there has been discovered another way. Perhaps the fight will become easier and easier as days and time fly by ? Perhaps the temptress will lose intrest in the face of your strengthening spirit ? Such prayers flow towards the creator on your behalf. Let not the darkness consume the light you have become.

Beautiful, Steph

Well I'm back, and I've got a lot of your poetry to read now. Good to see that you've been writing so much. You've got a lot of good lines in this one, that really express what your going for:

Obscure flower of suffering
I love that image. That's why I love peotry so much, becuase it is within the images that the feeling really comes through. It make it more powerful to show it through images rather than just saying "I'm depressed"

Look at what I have become…
Worthless, disgrace, fool…

You know, this one especially struck me because I have found myself feeling the same way. But when I read it coming from you, I was thinking, "No, don't think that, It's not true, you ARE worth something" I'm reminded how easy it is to get caught in that self hate cycle no matter how much you have to be grateful for.

I am boundless,
I am that bird in the sky…

There you go. Great way to end the poem on a good note. It's good to get out all of the negative energy you have, and I'm glad you came back to something positive to close it out.

Be True,
Zenmind

Spectacular very impressive.
Love comes when we least expect it.
Just around the corner...
