There was nothing of you left to save,

What happened to make you go this way?
You always said you’d make the bastards pay,
You waited for your revenge, your anger boiled,
A lovely young woman it spoiled.

She died a long time ago you said,
For years you had wanted her dead,
You’d often wish for this & now it’s been granted,
Your outlook on sanity had always been slanted.

The scars you had to bare became just too much,
Out of reality you finally lost touch,
You thought of nothing but darkness & of death,
I killed you because there was nothing of you left.

I put you in your grave,
There was nothing of you left to save,
You weren’t you any more,
You had rotted right through your core.

A powerful write. Whether that was a negative part of youself, or breaking away from someone else in their self destructive focus, it is a breaking away from something really negative ...... good going

I see mental images of Tolkien's Gollum. Two personalities, vying for control of one entity. The dark one lost.
