Array ( [sid] => 736 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Guided my Moonlight [time] => 2002-07-19 11:13:39 [hometext] => i'm a high school student and i wrote this poem in may 2002. this poem was actually inspired by a robert frost poem (kind of an echo poem like my other poem "outcast" but not as directly). it may be a bit incomprehensible to the reader ( i was told it was hard to understand), but it's open to anyone's interpretation. i think the alignment gets messed up on this one as well (as with "outcast") so, again, if you're real interested, let me know and i'll send a copy of the original version. [bodytext] =>
The darkness envelopes me as a friend
spiritless arms embracing my movements
Wetness falls across my cheeks
Repetitively
the tears of the sky
she cries for the corruption, the immorality
all evil.
Away from it all,
I find myself alone.

Poverty-stricken houses decorate the street
With no one there to protect
no dragon to guard from all evil
I avert my own gaze
but to no avail
I am surrounded by slums of the world
Ashamed of my fortunes.

I stop and let the world move past me
as though all are running from an unseen monster
But one in need hinders the madness
Even though his distance his far
he manages to put a halt to an avalanche

I venture further into the darkness and rain
Guided solely by moonlight
her face looking down upon the world
am informed gaze with the world’s manifest destiny.
Providing no start
No finish
The night is my friend
revealing all I’ll ever need to know
and learn.

I liked the dragon metaphor and it is easy to understand :)
