While the creatures of the night shriek and cry
They hide within the shadows of your room
Hoping to bring upon your doom
A single ray of dimming light
Cuts through the darkness of the night
And stalls your death another day
The light keeps the creatures far away
Cowering in fear you lie in your bed
Hoping these creatures are merely in your head
But from the darkest corner you hear a moan
And realize that you are not alone
Blood-red eyes burn through the dark
Clawing at the floor they leave their mark
Waiting for you to leave the safety of your bed
No longer protected, you’re light goes dead
The creatures of the night slither through the dark
Upon you they’ll leave their fatal mark
You’ll never see tomorrow’s light
For they have dragged you into eternal night [comments] => 2 [counter] => 192 [topic] => 13 [informant] => EternalNight4x [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
