And the lovers lay in chill.
The golden beams low and bright,
The moon barely visible leading the charge of night.

The lovers lay side by side,
Breathing in unison.
Silence prevailed for a long while.
“I love you,” one whispered with an enchanting smile.

A reply came in a most curious tone:
“Show me, tell me: how much?”
“Darling there are no words I could find,
It would be explaining color to the blind!

Blue is chilly, comfortable.
Familiar, and bold.
When rain falls and runs down your cheek,
That’s blue trying to speak.

Yellow and orange is welcoming,
Warmth exudes from them both.
Wrapped in warm blankets smiles all around,
Laughter belongs to them; it’s their sound.

Pink and purple is everything ‘le femme’
Luxurious and silky
Cotton candy sweet.
Breathe in some rose or dahlia,
That is pink seducing you with its aroma.

RED is everything extreme!
It’s love and its counterpart hate.
Loud and overbearing,
Brash and daring.

As love it is overwhelming
Emotions of joy and bliss.
Longing and desire for the world to see,
A luscious kiss is how red is set free.

As hate it burns
It cuts deep inside unseen places.
Rage, a never-ending bad dream
Hateful red is a crazed scream.

Black is a deathly loneliness
Joy is slaughtered.
Emptiness and nervous fears
Helplessly lost, black is your solemn tears.

Green is out of place,
A pleasantly uncomfortable situation
Having your cereal topped with a pickle
Is how green disturbs the regular cycle.

Blue is the goose bumps you give,
Your familiarity.
Yellow and orange your embracing arms
Harmonious laughter, your witty charm.

Pink and Purple your lovely taste,
A sweetness so addicting!
The feeling of your rose petal skin,
Everything womanly all wrapped in.

Red is our passion,
My wild desires.
The tensions between us, all our lust
Your heart contains all my trust.

Black is you leaving
My inexistence in your absence.
Waking from a terrible nightmare
To find out its true, you were never really there.

Green is all your quirks,
Your individuality.
Clothes that are sometimes outrageous,
Everything you do that is contagious.

This is just a taste of it
What your love is for me.
Whenever your unsure or suspect lies,
Remember our love is the color that surrounds our lives!”

Captivating. Enchanting. Completely love this one.
So true, finding words to describe love really is like trying to describe color to a blind person.

I relate to this all too well.
