I hope you enjoy the miserable heartache that prompted this particular poem from my soul. [bodytext] => "What Could Be” - by J. Samuelson 01/19/2001

Perplexed by all of this mystery
Frightened by things still unknown
Lying to me and my inner self
False hopes and darkened skies are threatening

Left helpless to wander aimlessly
Amidst a raging depth of What Could Be
Locked into a world of affliction
Chained to walls of circumstance

Frozen time and space suspend me
I’m indebted to accept this destiny
Unable to escape the confusion within
Condition unstable, critically aware

Indignation controlling questioned elation
Apprehension rules over my innocence
The downcast prayers for What Could Be
Defy the desire of that which should be.

Yet unwilling to yield to the forces surrounding
Savagely defending my reason and want
Eternally yearning to battle for my will
Optimistic, and craving What Could Be. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 262 [topic] => 2 [informant] => Joker17 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 12 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Thanks for the feedback. I'm happy you enjoyed this poem, hopefully as much as I did writing it. There is much more to come, in this rollercoaster called my "past" life.

Good poem, although I hope you don't really feel that way. everyone goes through those kinds of thoughts sometimes.
