7am he crawls out of bed
Yawning, scratching his head
He gets that from me

Misty eyed, cracking a smile
Wanting to go back to sleep, but wondering how
He gets that from me

His little legs go down the stairs
Goes to the table, pulls up a chair
He gets that from me

Looks around, wonders where is mom?
And where is breakfast is coming from
He gets that from me

Unpatiently he starts to cry
Hoping to be heard from a passer by
He gets that from me

He hears footprints on the stairs
He’s happy again, without a care
He gets that from me

Oh the antics of a little child
How he mocks me is really wild
He gets that from me

In short time his stomach is full
Thinks to himself, oh how I rule
And just like me…

He’s got a lot to learn!

He Gets That From Me

7am he crawls out of bed

He gets that from me

This reminds me of the Reba song. I watched the video the other day and it was extremely moving.
