Array ( [sid] => 73237 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => eight letters, three words, one meaning [time] => 2004-11-26 15:23:18 [hometext] => I wrote this poem a few days before and gave it to the person I love, while I got on the train and left her behind [bodytext] => a parting gift at first refused
carved in wood, with lines that flow
given in love, what am I to do ?
sensual to touch, an imprint of you

Saying goodbye is like that extra mile
remembering your face, your voice, your smile
the heart is beating and it hurts within
touching the skin, of my identical twin

taking a picture of your face to remember
heart frozen over like a moon in december
snapshot in time, but too soon to fade
numb to the thought, and nothing to trade

feeling the wrench at this last goodbye
trying to stop the lip that trembles
watching your eyes as they flicker with pain
forcing a smile, but it's so inane

Reaching behind you to feel your hair
words are failing, I touch and stare
impulsive last kiss, your lips so tender
knowing not what, is on the agenda

Now you are gone, never to meet
just so one of us can be complete
jalepeno pepper and blueberry reprise
both shocked at the sudden demise

So go forward, never glance back
find your happiness, get on the right track
and when you feel me wander through your soul
smile, and remember at our self control

eight letters, three words, one meaning
Goodbye my Soulmate, such a sad feeling
nothing left in me to express my despair
just wanted you to know, that I really did care [comments] => 0 [counter] => 157 [topic] => 22 [informant] => Mr_Jalepeno [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
