I stared at your gleaming eyes,
Which gave me a question to realize.
Am I dreaming or can this be true?
That you and I are meant for each other.

You promised me and I did likewise.
The love we felt seemed to last forever.
But then you made a decision that wasn’t clever.
“Goodbye, I’m sorry”, was all that you said.
Leaving me all alone, crying in my bed.

After that, someone else owned you.
I approached you and these words came out.
“Why did you leave me?” I cried out loud,
Realizing that was a terrible thing to do,
I just left and walked alone at the lonely street.

When I saw you with that “someone”
I realized that there was something left undone.
To tell you that my feelings were sincere,
And losing you was my greatest fear.
Can I tell you all this without shedding a tear?

Why can’t I get you off my head?
Even if I know that you love someone else.
I hope I can tell you “I love you,” again.
But some things are better left unsaid.
I hope you can love me the same way you did then.

You and I finally had a chance to meet.
As I saw you at the lonely street,
My heart gave the strangest beat.
You smiled at me and I had a weird feeling
Love for me hasn’t lost it’s meaning.

“I still love you and I’ll wait,” I finally said.
You stared at me and my face turned red.
“I feel the same,” was your reply.
I felt confused I did not know why.
The street didn’t feel lonely for a while. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 215 [topic] => 2 [informant] => alexz [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
