A Heart With No Beat

Contributed by pixie on Wednesday, 24th November 2004 @ 01:31:52 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

To have a heart with no beat,
Is like trying to walk with no feet,
My heart longs to feel something,
Wants to find its voice so it can sing.

A long time ago heart was at peace,
Now it’s been brought down on its knees,
All it feels is hurt & pain,
It has long shattered under the strain.

The only sound heard is loneliness,
Heart no longer has someone to caress,
It has no-one to love or show affection,
Only misfortune comes in its direction.

It lays heavy & so very beaten,
Dying after all the heartache’s been eaten,
Heart has been drowned with tears,
Seems to be stuck in a reverse gear.

Why has the beat from my heart died?
It feels as if life & love have both lied,
I just want my heartbeat to come back,
Please heartache can you cut me some slack?
