My eyes, dirty windows to a dark soul
My mouth, silenced by the pain inside
My tears, salty droplets of a life so cold

Life’s dirty secrets revealed for all to see
My pale, gaunt wrists tell the tales so true
Like a living diary of my torment within
The pale and pink scars of a life gone askew

In my head, where everything goes awry
Thoughts of an elusive nature take reign
Affecting my senses, altering my perceptions
Convoluted messages and conflicted pain

I hate what I have become. I despise it all
What was once a life, is a soulless vessel of pain
I am truly misconstrued, a danger to myself
And I hope I don’t live through this again

Bring out the familiar tools, my dearest friends
My sombre implements of both pain and despair
The razor-edge is sharp and switchblade clean
And the suicide note is composed with due care
Look away. Push the razor deep into your skin
Feel the lifeblood escape from you with haste
Absorb the overdue feeling of relief you gain
And forever focus on the pain and hurt it replaced
