Array ( [sid] => 72722 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Never Trust an Ice Cream Sundae [time] => 2004-11-22 17:08:35 [hometext] => ice cream is my favorite food ever and while i was eating it some things made themselves clear. sometimes the truth is seen through the simplest things. [bodytext] => It seemed like just yesterday
I was bathing in my misery,
You took my hand to take a walk,
To talk, and get a bite to eat.
All my struggles began to fade …
Replaced with a big ice cream Sundae instead!
One that I could never get enough of
Cherries on top and all!
We could share this frigid treat,
Chocolate, strawberry, vanilla!
So dreamy and creamy
It fits so nicely, perfectly!
Harmonious flavors,
Sitting in that charmingly in that bowl.
But how stupid!!
All that ice cream was bound to melt.
I will lay down no blame,
It’s nature that makes ice cream melt.
I still shovel spoonfuls in my mouth,
It still tastes the same-
But a sundae for two is too much for one,
Even if you don’t admit it at first.
Your tummy will eventually give you the hint.
OuCH!
Some cherries still had pits,
And some hearts do to.
Before my eyes I see my luscious sundae
Become a quagmire of sludgy fudgy heartache.
It was so quick and fleeting,
So lovely at the beginning,
So obviously unconquerable,
Silly me!
Listen to your mothers
Its true,
Your eyes are bigger than your stomach,
And for some that goes for their heart too!
