I can smell you, your so near
I hide, crippled by anxiety
Trapped within painting this solliloquy

My eyes are always closed, bound by failure
I've been pushed beyond what I can endure
And now from these wrists I bleed
Slamming home sorrow's seed

On depression's bile I choke
And in tears I have often awoke
Stapled to the cross of my loneliness
My fears taking forever to redress

Tormented by thoughts I cannot bare
Driven to a point where I no longer care
The stitches have come undone,
But my bloodloss forbids me to run

Exit wounds that tell of a time of weakness
My body crisscrossed with scars, countless
Exit wounds that forbid me to fly
And leave me, alone, to cry

This is emotionally powerful. You are hard on mascara. I just feel like crying from the anguish emitting from your poem.

You have a remarkable way of taking the reader into the vortex of your emotions.

This is one to be proud of J.

Another amazing read. Whenever I want to read a good poem of torturment I can always count on you. This poem just screamed a bloody mess in my ear, I love your word usage to describe things. You carve these pieces perfectly.
Well done

Kisses,

I really like the title. You knows it.

I'd like to use it, if you'll let me, as I was anticipating something a little less esoteric in this poem. I'd like to take another angle on it.

Good job, Joel.

oh, joel.

honey, joel, you are so beautiful. and i don't think you even realise. your souls shines so bright sometimes it makes me close my eyes and cry. i hate that you hurt, i hate that you are scared.

hold onto all the good moments. because that's the only way. smile, darling. i know that life's hard, and i know that sometimes it's so difficult to see which direction to go, but i am here in your darkest times to help you. and bloodstains are just that; stains. they never go away completely, but they fade. and they stop hurting.

life will be good for you, honey. i promise you. a soul and a mind like yours cannot stay dark forever. there's a path mapped out for you, be brave and follow it. and every tear will turn into gold-dust, in the end.

i love you, eternally.
