Resembles what cannot be true
It is what is sad
The color of many oceans afar
We drown in our deepest of miseries
In the color that grows within us
We are sealed in with it
Sitting upon our soul
Making us not of our kind
We begin to turn lifeless
Speaking in distant voices
So weak
And alone
We truly become this color
This color of pure sadness
Sadness in which
We are infested with for eternity

after blue there is black
after black there is red
after life there is death,
yet one in the same

so when death will not reach us
and life does insist
and persist in its presence
amidst all our shame

when our breath has us shaking
sobbing tears in our bed
it is time to look at our mind
instead of our wrist

it is then we will realize
the true challenge is not
to beat life, defeat living
but instead co-exist.

because blue blue can mean sorrow
or blue can mean sky
and life can mean living
without wanting to die

pyrofungus... i wrote this poem right now, in victoria, bc, canada, on the 2nd of january 2005, on the spot. for you, just for you.
you asked me to comment on some of your poetry...
i chose this one...
most of my poems, should you read them, especially the ones before june or july or so... were poems such as this one...
i was depressed for eight years...
ive over 52 scars on my body from self inflicted cuts, burns, punctures, and gouging...

and if you find yourself trapped in such a way at all as i was... talk to me....

-Lane
