Array ( [sid] => 72078 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => childhood experiences lead me down this path [time] => 2004-11-18 11:06:19 [hometext] => It started off as a poem about a lady i used to be very close to as a child. she died just before i turned 13. but it kinda evolved into the rest of my feelings from today......comments very much appreciated. [bodytext] =>

Why do I feel like this?
When it’s you that I miss.
Why did you have to leave me when I was only young?
God didn’t give you the chance to see what I have become.
I may be a failure in most people’s eyes but to you I was precious,
Alas all I am left feeling is anxious.
I am looked upon with shamefulness,
I did go astray for a few years, I confess.
I may even now need counselling but at least I am still alive,
You did always have the faith in me to survive,
So I have problems in my mind, it’s my imperfection,
I never expected to let this happen.
How was I to know my childhood experiences would lead to such mayhem?
It is not me you should condemn.

May be once in awhile you should not ask ‘how are you feeling today,’
It sounds like something I expect my therapist to say.
You all just get my typical answer ‘I’m ok’
When blatantly it’s a lie so I can be left alone.
May be it didn’t help that few months I spent stoned.
Now I am clean,
And let everything be seen…..

SJ

VERY MOVING. I KNOW YOU BELIEVE YOUR ALL GROWN UP, BUT READING THIS I CAN SEE THE MATURITY JUST STARTING TO BLOSSOM. IT IS A GOOD POEM AND MADE ME SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
