Till the tissue is no longer dry,
As the music plays a counter melody,
To the sorrow in my eyes.

And I'll listen to the words,
To the story of my life,
As the guy behind the song,
Seems to sing behind my eyes.

I'll listen to his words...
And I'll cry a little more each time...

And I'll remember all these feelings,
My heart pounding through my veins,
And as I fall into the music...
I'll close my eyes again...

And as memories return to me,
The tears will still remain,
As he sings to me my story,
I'll lose my thoughts in you again...

I'll weep to his words...
But no tissue will wipe my tears away...

Because I need to cry... [comments] => 12 [counter] => 242 [topic] => 61 [informant] => lostinmyself [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 30 [ratings] => 6 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

Delicate.

I have to say I was thoroughly moved by this all the way until the last line, where I expected it to rhyme along with the rest . . . and was kinda left hanging on for more.

But no bother - that's an aside of my nitpickyness.

Keep writing, Phil.

I love your style more every time i
read more of your poetry.
This is very deep and emotional,
I can relate to this as there are a couple
of songs that can just make me burst
into tears.

It has got to be one of my favourite poems.

Music is someone's heart composed into a melody. I think that is why it touches us often. I try to imagine the hurt or love or whatever the composer was feeling when he sat down to write the score.

You write so well Lost. We all need to cry at times.

"As he sings to me my story,
I'll lose my thoughts in you again..."

Beautiful...

Kie
