Array ( [sid] => 71904 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Why can't I do it? [time] => 2004-11-17 08:49:46 [hometext] => I wish I could release myself from the chains of the world , but my family keeps me living. (thank you...) [bodytext] => I don’t wish I were dead,
or say that I’m sad,
I just wish to be happy,
just hope to be glad.

I know I may say it,
but I’m not strong enough,
When I try to release me,
I ‘m just not that tough.

I wish I could stop,
be happy once more,
but since I was 8,
my life has no core.

No center, no peace,
no place to retreat,
no one to care,
just a dummy to beat.

My emotions run high,
as I think of my past,
thinking this day,
it may be my last.

But what of the people,
I love so dear,
if I die now,
what will they fear.

Now that I’m dead,
will they kill themselves to,
that’s not what I want,
so what do I do?

Standing alone,
I stand here and cry,
I know that I can’t,
and won’t say goodbye.

The people I love,
I will never leave,
still I hope someday,
love I’ll receive. [comments] => 8 [counter] => 199 [topic] => 48 [informant] => givingin [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

your poem is a very good read but at the same pace you can all so feel what your heart is saying. Just always remember God brought you to what ever trial and tribulation you are having in your life right now and he will bring you through it. May love find you soon and you get all the happiness you deserve.

I've had these thoughts. Even as a Christian, there are times I just want to go and be with God. It's hard to admit that is a selfish thing, but thinking of your family is a very unselfish thing. Keep writing. I enjoy reading your work.

simple words but extremely effective. i have felt like this and i didn't act upon it for the same reasons as you. it's hard now but in the future you will look back and be thankful for the weight of other people's love.

lovely poem, could feel your emotions.

keep posting, this was a pleasure to read x
