That Night

Contributed by Jacque_C on Tuesday, 16th November 2004 @ 08:14:32 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

That night my whole heart died
When you sliced me up inside
This time it wasn’t just that little part
It was my entire soul and life
Pain being just enough to bear before
But now I don’t know if I can take
Knowing the way you say you love me
But you still continue to make your mistake
I tried to tell you it didn’t have to be this way
Tried to save you from all that future pain
Knowing no matter what I said
You’d still go right on ahead
Being blind
To all those times
On your chest id rest my head
Just to hear your heart beat
So happily
Completely, cuddling close with no regrets
Holding on to a little hope
Sometimes I’d wonder why
When I knew it be for a no
Deep inside reading into your mind
Wishing hoping that I could find
But seeing that I did
It hurt me worse
To know what inside you hid
About that last time I said goodbye
It would be too late though still I knew we both cried
I told you you’d understand
One day when you were ready to be a man
But for now it was your lesson to learn
I just tried to tell you
Apologized cuz I been had my turn
Just this time
The feelings more real
In deep in depth that’s the way
So painful made hurting feel
Knowing it so hard to heal
Cuz in my heart you’d know regret and I’m sorry still
Was baby just a name
It always went deeper
I know I can say
And then I see it in your face
Hear it in your voice
Theres a reason its so hard to change
I love you forever
On this day
For losing you
That’s my whole heart
Then id be so shamed
Having nothing left to give
Except that shadow of a day
You I really forgive
Somehow learning to live
My entire soul
Id try and forget
