The Smoking Dis-ease

Contributed by SWCSuzyQ on Tuesday, 16th November 2004 @ 08:12:27 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

There once was a time. It was considered cool
But in time was becoming, An unfashionable tool

It was positively wonderful, It was just the thing to do
I really wasn't born this way, It was something to ensue

Yes, we all have our habits, In one way or another
But it also boils down to, Please don't judge your brother

It's easy to get started, But very hard to depart
For the reason's it is used, Are entwined in the heart

Killing doesn't always come, From using cars or a gun
But can easily happen, From the wagging of the tongue

I have seen scrunched up faces, And waving hands in the air
And heard many deadly things, Without any care

Words truly have great power, So they can heal or destroy
So let's make some changes, From both sides I employ

Smokers be considerate, Remaining always aware
Don't receive the negative, Rebuke feelings of despair

And on the opposite hand, All of you who do not smoke
I'd appreciate it greatly, If you'd quit pretending to choke

You can help oh so much more, If you knew just what to do
By speaking life to my life, I understand your side too

Just a plain simple request, Will eventually transmit
By saying life to your life, I'm sure someday you'll quit

Hey sweetie!
Glad to see you're putting down your rhymes, and prose for the world to see. I thought that you might like this site.
I liked this one. Most people do quit eventually. At the time that seems proper to them. Or maybe, at that time in their life that they can no longer justify continuing the habit.
Anyway, good write.
I'll talk to you on the round-a-bout. R& R
