Array ( [sid] => 71683 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Rest [time] => 2004-11-15 23:13:45 [hometext] => [bodytext] => There are times when you want to lay down and wait,
before you can stand up and walk again.
Not a time of weakness, but of rest.
Times when the warrior
keeps aside his sword and holds a dream,
when he finds the day a companion,
but the calm night a friend.

One shade lighter than calmness,
the soft flames of candles shiver,
along this night’s edges, along
the promises that were never spoken.

Tomorrow we will rise with the dawn,
and we will fight the winds we meet…
but only rest awaits in the hour of now,
only stillness for wounded, weary feet.

Ancient dreams come calling, memories
will sit beside us, talk like old friends,
no longer blurred and faraway, but
clear and fresh as the light of day.

And when the new day comes shining,
we will look every storm in the eye, but
tonight, our eyes shall rest and dream,
of golden lands that listen, skies that speak.

Let the hope of love strengthen these hands,
let the words we hold close, hold us for now,
let our prayers find words in silence, that
when the dawn comes, we will stand unafraid.

That when battles rage, our peace will
have taught us unfailing victory songs,
That when tomorrow comes, yesterdays will
have made wiser and sweeter these hearts.
