With nothing near, but a vultures cry.

The wind blows the sand hard against your face,
And you wish you could find a way out of this place.

You’ve been wandering for years, but everything looks the same.
And you know that this punishment is yours for the blame.

There’s nothing around, not a shrub or a plant,
You want to get out, but you know that you can’t.

You’ve walked ten thousand miles, causing your feet to bleed.
You’ve lost all sense of reality, and have forgotten what you need.

But just the other day you saw something strange,
Something so odd, it made your heart change.

Just the other day, you were walking some more,
When you looked up and saw a brown wooden door.

A door standing still, with a brass colored knob,
You stared confused, as your head begun to throb.

What? A door? Now isn’t this odd.
Who put it here? Was it sent by god?

Where will it lead you? Will it lead you out?
Out of this abandoned desert, into a land of no doubt?

It could lead you out, out of your sin,
Or it could be a trick, and lead you in.

Into another land, with fire and flames,
A trap to lead you into more hazardous games.

Should you take a chance, and see what’s behind it?
Will it make you suffer, or will you benefit?

You set your hand on the knob, not sure if you should dare.
But you go ahead and open the door,
And find nothing there.

Just the desert you were in, the sky and the sand,
In the middle of no where, the same old desolate land.

You stop for a moment, while you ponder and stare.
And you finally realize this was your door...
Your door to no where.

This is quite different, but I like it. The idea of the "door to no where" is interesting, especially because the person spent so much time pondering what may lay behind that door. Good write.
