An Internet Junkie
Claiming nothingness
As my home.
Addicted to the pixels
That fall before my eyes
Forever craving one more minute
Another instant to be lost
Within such emptiness.
Too scared to delve
Into the real world
Finding solace amidst
Infinite cyber-space.
Feeding off the emissions
Of those unknown:
Serial killers, rapists, terrorists…?
Pouring my heart out
To such random people
Whom at my discretion
Forever disappear
With the click of a button.
And I call out to you:
Security net! so weakly strung
I beg of you, Don’t fail me now!
I live through your lifelessness
And should you break,
So shall I
Cutting off, the weakest ties. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 48 [informant] => cuddlytiger17 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Well. I can't describe what I think about this...just that it's a good write (Though I know that's not very helpful)

Very impressed with it.
It's not just one-dimensional
about being on the internet and
wasting time having fun.
Very thought provoking
about who you are dealing with
out there.
ANd the end was dramatically
effective.

well written concept of the struggle that many have - one of two hats we wear - the one where we are hidden and just fonts on the screen and the one where we wish we were sometimes hidden in real life

thanks for sharing!!
