Array ( [sid] => 70981 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Wall [time] => 2004-11-10 17:03:31 [hometext] => I wrote this poem in the mid-90's after reading a book about The Wall (Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.) I hate war I think killing folks is an insane way to solve problems. [bodytext] => I stare at this cold black wall
seeing rows and rows of names
of those who did fall.

Was it your lover, a brother, or a friend?
Maybe a buddy you held hands with
until the end.

What was the reason for this horrible war?
The hatred, the killing,
What was it for?

I shed tears for these proud
young men and women who gave their lives,
and for the veteran who stands beside me,
for the price he paid to survive.

I see the hell in his soul
he must live with everyday.
Was the war really worth
the price paid? [comments] => 4 [counter] => 152 [topic] => 57 [informant] => deadheadpoet [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => war )

A very thought provoking write, I really liked it. The open ended questions you pose are very profound.

Good to see you submitting poems again

Emotional write open questions who can answer ? In this world where satan roams evil men are his captive souls.
We hope and pray for peace the world over.
Sometimes there is no answer but to go to war.
Even to Christ the Romens did scorge.
Father forgive them they know not what they do.
In saying that He covered me and you.
Good poem thought provoking. Sinned :)
