The feeling of his fist,
against my battered face,
this life is my only one,
this is my only place.

He call’s me names when he get’s home,
because the dishes were not done,
he hit’s me once and then again,
and all I feel is shun.

My mother sit’s in the chair,
as she watches him have his way,
I know she cares but does not dare,
for she knows what he will say.

“Sit down *****, leave us be,
or else you will get it too!”
All she thinks of is poor me,
but oh my god poor you!

I lay here now, all motionless,
and do not speak a word,
I hear some footsteps coming close,
I think my father heard.

Tonight I called the only ones,
who could help me and my mom,
the sirens blast and flash so red,
I listen to there song.

My father run’s and hit’s my mom,
he then go’s to his desk,
he pull’s a gun and cocks it,
then put’s it to his chest.

My mother screams and run’s to me,
her face is bruised and this I see.

The car’s pull up and they come in,
Then take my mom away.

I watch a man as he approach,
he bend’s and look’s at me,
he turn’s to mom,
“ I’m sorry miss, but soon her life won’t be.”

She kneels down and kisses me,
“ I love you dear, I’m so sorry!”
I watch her fade as I close my eye’s
and thank god for saving me. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 66 [informant] => givingin [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => drugabuse )
