Action, Reaction
Slowly counter me with overused anticdotes
I've hid under my covers since first love
in hopes the sun won't rise again.
Laugh it off? I try it's only a game we play
But now even the ocean seems smaller to me
The old streets don't hold the near nastalgia
The brown faces now see me at loss in a crowd.
Action, Reaction
Keeping playing my two favorites notes over again
until they drown into the night.
Always salt in my wounds
Always second hand smoke you are
Never too tired to kick me when I'm down
The dirty street a decrebid bench an unfullfilled promise a horrible wretch in a city where sleeping is all too highty-tighty for your flighty nites. Where cigarettes and coffee are perfumes in the air, Where last lovers letters we're tossed out with a care, of sympathetic sympathy and nostalgic dispair, I'm but a worn sneaker tired out from it's wear, tossed out in the cold unto a world that's not fair.
Action, Reaction
A Two Step we had
We'd float with the weather
We'd scream when we're sad
We'd dance like the moments would keep breathing on
In a wicked cold autumn we n'er got along
To fight the good fight, to sing our last song
I prayed for April to carry me on.
