Array ( [sid] => 70645 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Bad Things Happen To Good People [time] => 2004-11-08 15:59:50 [hometext] => This issue came up a lot in prior work with those who were suffering. What do you think? [bodytext] => I know this to be true
It's probably happened to you
Perhaps something unforeseen
Maybe even something mean

Sometimes we ponder these things
Trying to figure out what bad brings
To figure out what went wrong
Wanting our troubles to be gone

Then we begin to wonder aloud
Feelings evoked were not very proud
Inevitably the question arose
Why me Lord, do you suppose

With that you heard the response to be
Why not you, rather then he
Should someone else take your place
So that you have no unpleasantness to face

Should there be no misery in the world
Just peace and bliss unfurled
Wouldn't this be Heaven on earth
Which is my gift to you at your re-birth

I don't purposely select you to suffer
But it wouldn't be fair to others to buffer
Learning to resist and to recover
Is a means by which we discover

I guess the answer my child
Is everyone suffers for awhile
No one is free from feeling some pain
My Son Jesus did the same

So pain is just part of life
No one is exempt from strife
I did not single you out
Suffering is what life is all about

Suffering is not punishment for being bad
I do not seek you out to make you sad
My only goal is to ease your pain
For your salvation is my only aim [comments] => 3 [counter] => 180 [topic] => 62 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => spiritual )

AMEN!
Mind if I share this with a friend who was asking me this exact question the other day?
