Array ( [sid] => 7013 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The Beginning of the End [time] => 2002-11-19 07:30:00 [hometext] => This is about a woman with the beginnings of Alzheimers Disease. [bodytext] => Her body is sound, its her mind that slips
Her memory has gaps but she remembers snips
With hard cold reality she tries to come to grips
Holding rosary beads, she whispers a prayer

A single tear wells up in her eye
She holds it back, trying not to cry
Failing miserably, she continues to try
It becomes to much to bare

A solitary drop glides down her face
Unknown to her, it enhances her grace
That silvery furrow is so out of place
This show of emotion is so rare

No one senses her pain inside
The hurt and the fear that she's trying to hide
Vulnerability is something she's always denied
This is turmoil without compare

A lifetime of longing sears her soul
Dreams unfulfilled takes its toll
Fading away, she no longer feels whole
Of reality, she becomes unaware

Her heart holds memories that time can't erase
A whirlwind waltz in a far away place
The warmth and compassion of a lovers embrace
She exhales a quiet sigh of despair

While locked into memories, the tears fall like rain
She's slowly and quietly driven insane
The world around her continues, mundane
For senility, there is no repair.
