I watched the man of my life drive away with his father by his side, I looked at your sisters and your mom and tried to hide my fear with pride. Later in the day I distracted myself with anything but a bad thought, Then in just a few seconds you'd walk through that door shot. Your mom in shock and your sisters crying, the look in your eyes, You prayed for God's mercy, your blood on my hands, away reality flies. Twenty-nine seconds now determine our drams, our lives, and fate, A life has been lost, and for all the "what ifs?" it's too late. Now I see you every once and a while through a glass, I read your letters and this loneliness in my heart will never pass. Tyrants shall fall one day, so I fear not the truth I speak, God is with us and with faith as great as ours he will make our enemies weak. I will stay and patiently await for the day that you are set free, I know in my mind, in my heart, and soul that this love is meant to be. Injustice will come and someone casts the first stone, I got your back, You can be sure true love that is eternal for you, I shall never lack. From the tears on my pillow that roll down my face, In my dreams every night I will meet you in that special place. In that place we are free, we are happy, in love, and at peace, I run my hand over your face memorizing every line, every crease. You are the love of my life, my everything and always will be, But I need something more than just a memory.
