Array ( [sid] => 69793 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Pretty, stupid thing [time] => 2004-11-02 05:38:21 [hometext] => Found out my oh so sweet husband has been talking some nasty things bout me to his friend. Broke my heart again. I am really upset this time. I am leaving him to go back to the states for a while. This is for him! [bodytext] => God, I thought I had it, thought I had it good
did everything i was supposed, every thing I could!
Made myself over to be perfection in the flesh
only for you my inner beauty to mutilate and tresh!

Loving you was never easy, never easy at all
sometimes all i was to you, a little blow up doll
But giving up isn't my thing, and never will it be
so I made it my lifes perogative to make you love me!

The type of love I found was not the kind I dreamt and dreamed
At first I was bliss enchanted, my heart felt redeamed
but lies can decieve love and love can be lies
what do you think I now know I see when I look into your eyes?

Pretty thing, stupid, stupid, stupid am I
Why did I bother, bother to ever even give it a try
don't ever fall in love, you'll see doesn't pay
because broken hearts happen every single minute of every single day!!!!

I thought the same thing about falling in love since I have been there a few times now. But we would never know it was true love if we didn't feel pain that it tends to bring. I do wish that your husband would understand it's not love he's demonstrating, but the arrogance of taking someone for granted. It seems he needs a lesson in communication since that is how a relationship survives. I applaud you for trying your best and not giving up at the first rough moment, but I do know that there's only so much one person can do in a relationship of two. I do wish you luck and hope whatever you want will eventually happen for you. Take care, Ted Bare.

I think the absence of the pair of you will teach him a valuable lesson.

Good luck.

Interesting and telling write. The perfection syndrome is a subject that doesn't get treated often in poetry, but you have tackled it well. The concept of being able to be perfect and therefore have a perfect life always ignores the imperfection of those around you and, of course, yourself. This is raw and liberating. Nice stuff.

Why do we do this to ourselves? I really like this poem, related entirely in every single word. Tiffany J. (Red_October)

I'm so sorry..hope your heart mends soon. Some men just aren't worth it, darlin. Find one that treats you as the treasure you are..because you are a treasure you know..and he's an..ass! great write..

I love everything about this write! It's just brilliant in every single detail.

Maybe it's because I have kind of been there in parts. I too know what it's like to love someone who, in return, places you right at the bottom of their list of favourite people.

I know it's hard to face, but he's really not worth it!

Luv,

Pander
