I’m sick of all these stories
In which the good guy always conquers
Life is far from being that exquisite
So don’t tell me of lands where all is well
Where love has the power to overcome
Even the darkest of evils
Or places of mystery in which
Your deepest desires shall unfold
Kingdoms of princes and princesses
Who will always find one another
Through the dreariest of nights
Don’t inform me of these things
Because all of this is Artificial-
Synthetic, Fictitious, Misleading
Violence rules our world
The "heroes" really do die
Love is nearly nonexistent
Dreams rarely come true
And working hard doesn’t
Guarantee your success
We don’t need people to fasten lace
Around gushing wounds
It merely serves as a false sense of comfort
In a time when truth is all we have. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 165 [topic] => 21 [informant] => cuddlytiger17 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Somewhat cynical and depressing, but still a good write... It speaks the truth... Something that you don't see very often.

A compelling monologue
none the less.

Now you should
enlighten the benumbed...
