I'm Killing You

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 28th October 2004 @ 11:51:23 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I am slowly but surely killing you,
I really don’t know what to do,
I need help can’t do it alone,
Why isn’t there someone there on the phone?

I love you, but I am causing so much pain,
Driving the man I love almost insane,
To deal with my depression is so hard,
Leaves us both feeling detached & quite scarred.

We used to just be able to bounce right back,
After my problems had launched their attack,
But not anymore we have become worn,
As over the weeks your hearts become torn.

I have killed all the love that lives inside,
I have left you feeling like part of you has died,
Sometimes I hold you so tight,
That you struggle to get away with all your might.

It hurts me that you need space away,
When our relationships looking a bit grey,
I’m terrified that you won’t come back to me,
That from my love you finally want to be free.

It should be me that feels like she is dying,
In truth I do, although I’m not sat here crying,
I feel so drained like I possess no colour,
Never before has my life been duller.

Even my rape didn’t hurt me so much,
The amount of pain it doesn’t even begin to touch,
I have hurt you, that’s something that can’t be forgiven,
I am really sorry, I hope you believe the words I’ve written.

Pixie, There is so much feeling, sadness expressed in your poem. Poetry is a wonderful place to express all your feelings, whether sadness or happiness, it seems to
help mend your heart.
Best wishes

This poem was troubling, sad, insightful and filled with obvious pain. You expressed your thoughts very well Pixie.

I don't know if simple words will be of any help but I will say that some of the saddest poetry i've ever written came from the times when I felt the deepest grief. My heart was torn to pieces and my soul was just so empty that I had to have a way to let the hurt go so I wrote and found salvation in writing.

When things are bad and you're at your lowest point, please remember that if you are alive there is still hope. You can make changes, evolve, learn how to celebrate being alive and find contentment. It isn't easy, this I know but it can be found.

I hope everything works out for you. I have to tell you that I was moved deeply by this poem of yours.

Kie

Oh...It's so sad. I know what it's like to drown the one you love in your sorrow and you write well about it, I hope it helps to release it in words. Tiffany J. (Red_October)
