People lost, their memories rotten
Habits stopped but still longed for
Trying my best, the urges I ignore
I let the time slip past
It’s like sand through an hour glass
Slowly but surely, the sand falls through
I take it day by day, but total happiness is overdue
They said if I stopped, I would be blissful
But of my old habits, I am ever so miss-ful
I let the days slip past
It’s like sand through an hour glass
I found someone to lighten my heart
And he has, from the very start
But I can’t always do the same for my love
I look up in pain at the stars above
I let the months slip past
It’s like sand through and hour glass
I still have this one thing that won’t go away
I’ve been waiting and waiting for the very day
There’s this pain in my heart, this numbness inside
Any time I feel it coming on, I try to hide
I let the years slip past
It’s like sand through an hour glass
I guess I’ll have to fake the cheer
And go on like this, all through the years
In the end, I’ll make him content
If I have to die trying I’ll never resent
I let my life slip past

Very good writing.
It's a bit sad but it's a strong write as u show others with determination, help, will that one can change.
Jus be thankfull to yourself that you've come this far. It takes time and from this poem I can see u must have done allot to be proud of.
Hang tuff and keep up the good work as u've obviously over come much.
luv, hugg, fiath, hope, joy, peace,
emy

Very well-written and meaningful. Good work!

And it is a good desire to try to make someone else content. Our lives might slip away, but do they? And when you really think, how much is worth more than giving something good to another?

Sorry, you've caught me in a contemplative frame of mind.

namárië,
Andrew
