A Secret Admirer

Have you ever met someone
You know instantly is special
You see that special light in their eyes
See the reflection of joy in their smile

For a moment time stops
There's no one else in the world
You try not to stare
But you can't help yourself

It's as if providence has granted you
A momentary glimpse of heaven
And the beauty you espy so compels you
You'll never really be the same again

I know such a Lady
In whose eyes are wonders too divine for words
And the smile upon her face
Inspires not only the heart but the soul

Oft times I wish I could tell her
Let her know what a treasure she is
Let her know how thankful this heart is
She is a friend of mine

Ah, but alas I shall say nothing
Other than what my heart speaks in poetry
It will be enough to adore from afar
For I am a secret admirer
