Array ( [sid] => 68604 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Hero In My Own Way [time] => 2004-10-23 20:27:15 [hometext] => this a poem i wrote about a true event its a diffrent poem then that you are use to reading from me a bit violent at that comments are welcome [bodytext] => I saw you there

Blood dripping from your mouth I knew

That he had hit you again

I ran out the door got in my car and went looking for him

I went to the mall where he usually was

I saw him there taking with a few of his friends

I did not hesitate and did not waste one word

I rushed him and swung at his head with my fist

My fist that take down concrete walls

I took him down so easily

My knuckles bleeding dry on his face

That was almost unrecognizable

No one did a thing to stop

Not that it would have done any good

I saw a cop there looking at me

He knew what I was doing as right

I just kept pounding away at his face

You could not see his eyes they had swollen around

Finally the cop knew I would not tire so he picked me up

And sat me down on the stools near by

He walked away and picked that piece of ***** up

Turned him around and put the handcuffs on his wrist

I went to my car with some help from people around

They drove me to the hospital I guess I needed a shot or something

Anyways when I arrived the doctors came and helped to a room

Stuck a needle in me and cleaned my wounds

I needed a small cast from all the cuts I had received

I am not an angry person but I will not stand for that *****

No girl deserves to be treated like that it’s just wrong in so many ways

So that’s what I do to right the wrongs with my fists and strength

My hands hurt like hell from the alcohol and stuff

But then you walked in the room and it all went away

I swore I would not let any one hurt you even if you tried to stop me

One time you did he hit you and caused a miscarriage and I did nothing

All for the sake of you when I saw you there I could not let him get away with it

Not one more time not now not ever no way no how

You came up to me and laid down resting you head on my lap

And I felt good I felt calm again and happy that you were free

I did not sleep that night just protecting you

Looking after you is what I was meant to do and so I will do it

So sleep deeply and sweetly and know that I am always here for you

I would kill for you like I almost did tonight

People who treat women like that

Deserve what that guy got and much more

So don’t do it ever think of your mothers

And if you have I can forgive just don’t do it again

Wow man this was such an intense write. It put goosebumps on me. Though I am a non-violent sister(unless someone's messing with my kids) many years ago I was in a very abusive relationship and would have appreciated a hand once in a while. This man was twice my size and many times he would beat on me in front of other people and no man ever stepped into help and I would even call out for help sometimes but people would just ignore it. Shameful I think. No woman should remain in a relationship like that, I know I didn't. Take care and much peace.

Wow, brave knight. I'm sure it's much appreciated. It's nice to know that there are still folks out there that care and stick up for what's right.
luv, huggs, smiles,
