[time] => 2004-10-21 13:05:27 [hometext] => My best friend is going through a lot right now, our mutual friend died and her father is the scum of the earth and she has some issues. I don't know what to tell her because words can only do so much. [bodytext] => What do I say to someone
Who has just lost their best friend?
I'm sorry, I love you is just not enough.
What do I say to someone
When her own father rejects her?
I'm sorry, I love you is just not enough.
What do I say to someone
When she is slowly killing herself?
I love you is just not enough.

But anything else that I might say
Might hurt you more than your pain now.
So I'll try my best to be here for you
Because I am sorry and I do love you.
You are my best friend
I'll stick by you no matter what.
I'm sorry for all your hurt.
I love you. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 173 [topic] => 16 [informant] => silent_tears [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

i know how you feel, I've been there. It's hard to find the right things to say to your friends in their tyime of need but, you just have to speak the truth from your heart

Just keep doing what you are doing, silent tears. Care for her, respect her, stay close... just... be there. Sometimes she may want to talk, sometimes she may need a good laugh, sometimes she could use a distration. Follow her lead (it seems you already are, really). Don't worry about the words. Just knowing that there is someone that will be there - no matter what - means the most.

I lovely write for your friend. My heart goes out to her - and to you. I wish you both the very best.
