Trees that cover us

Like an over casting sky

We walk in what is left of the shade

Before the moon greets the sky

And its light turns the shade to shadow

It’s a beautiful sunset

As we look through the many shades of green

To the sunset that looks

Like an aurora of pinks, blues, reds, and oranges

God must be a painter you tell me

Because of all the colors in the world

I tell you I agree because he painted the best scenery

When he made you

We count the stars as the begin to fill the sky

One hundred then a thousand then we lose count

I take your hand and hold it tightly

As we walk along the parks tree filled paths

I look at you and say I love you

You look at me and fade away

Your hand slips through mine

Like rushing quicksand

As you go back into my memories
