She was sittin in the dark
Near the back of the bar
All alone

So I took a chance
And I asked her to dance
But I guess I should've known

She never looked up
She just stared at her cup
I could tell she was gonna decline

She said "Thank you, but no
I'm gettin ready to go
Perhaps some other time."

So I said ...
"In some other past
In some other time
Maybe I was your lover
Maybe you were mine
Maybe I touched your lips
With my finger tips
As we loved away the night
In some other past
Some other time"

It seemed the words touched her heart
For her hurtin started
To show

She began to cry
As she looked in my eyes
Then she let me know

She'd been standing on the shore
Of a river of tears
Waitin' for her ship to come in

She'd been hurt before
And didn't know any more
If she could ever trust love again

Then I said ...
"In some other past
In some other time
Maybe I was your hero
Or maybe you were mine
Maybe I rescued you
And you saved me too
From memories of the night
In some other past
Some other time"

Well, I turned to leave
When she touched my sleeve
And she asked me if I'd stay

So I sat down
Without a sound
And I thought I heard her say

She said ...
"In some other past
Some other time
Maybe I touched your heart
Maybe you caressed mine
Maybe we could try
Later tonight
To find a love we knew
In some other life
In some other past
Some other time

Yes ~
Maybe we could try
Later tonight
To find a love we knew
In some other life
In some other past

Some other time

Soulmates? Yes, I believe. An all-too-perfect write, divine poet! I can relate very much to a past love that was very much like this. You paint such vivid pictures in my mind! Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing this magnificent piece, Scott. You have blown me away once more. A splendid "dig up" from the past. Glad you found it! Much love, and hugs!
Eternally yours,

Votre fleur de bonheur

Naz, a great write and a tantalizing story, again on the theme of lost love.

Beautifully written, glad you dug it out to share.
